Hellraiser (1987)

Written and Directed by Clive Barker and Starring Ashley Laurence, Doug Bradley, Andrew Robinson and Clare Higgins

Plot : Frank, a man of perverse appetites seeks out a box and gets it for a heavy price and is sent to hell but escapes, later needing to be restored with help from his brothers wife but hell doesn’t give up that easy.

The outfits and hair are really 87 haha. I am in love with Ashley, had the pleasure of meeting her and Doug and most of the original cast, super nice people, that being said , i loved this movie before i met any of them. Pinhead is my 2nd favorite horror icon behind only Jason. You will see that my sister and I watched two different movies lol. It had great direction, effects, music, writing, and is very re-watchable, Tara doesn’t agree with at least half of that. It is highly original with a good motive. Great innovation by Cenobites, great cast. I find this really fun to watch, Tara doesn’t. There are boob shots and gore! I saw this movie for the first time when i was about 11 and i have loved it ever since, i was pinhead in 6th grade, the looks i got were priceless. I could not recommend a movie more highly than Hellraiser, the idea of our own nature making our hell and our twisted curiosities and naivity becoming the reason for and instruments of our damnation has always fascinated me.

Tara gave it a 37/100 and i gave it a whopping 101/100, yup i gave it extra points, that’s how much i love it!

About DJVoorhees13

1. If I could manage it, I'd love to learn a new language. 2. My favorite piece of clothing is my Philadelphia Eagles tee shirt. 3. The fictional place I'd most like to go to is the Starship Voyager so I could explore space. 4. I once spent exactly 6 hours (no more, no less) working at a Burger King. 5. If making people laugh were a sport, I'd win the gold every time. 6. My favorite drink is Yoo-Hoo. 7. The best non-horror movie I've seen recently is Wonder. I loved the book, too. 8. My favorite bands are the Beach Boys and The Monkees. I've even seen The Monkees in concert. 9. Danny Trejo is my idol. He's overcome so much and he's super nice in person. 10. The most heartwarming thing I've ever seen is this old couple in the doctor's office. They were poking each other playfully and their love just filled the room.
