Plot: an escaped maniac murders some sorority sisters during Christmas time
This is considered blasphemy by many a horror fan, but me and DJ actually like this remake much more than the original. There’s a better story, a greater level of fear, a faster pace, awesome kills, a great cast (whom DJ especially loves), nice effects and good direction. The killer being so brightly yellow is a little campy, but we can deal with that.
The only thing we couldn’t deal with was the unrealistic nature of those hospital doors. No hospital room doors close like that. Hell, they don’t usually keep them closed at all. And why is it that the guy who’s been cheating on his girlfriend still ends up being the most rational character in the movie?
We highly recommend this movie and believe it should be watched on DVD rather than Netflix or cable. Mostly because of the alternate scenes. The international version of “Melissa’s” death is awesome and they show a lot more. Also, there are 4 different endings that you should judge for yourself. the 1st alternate is my favorite and the 2nd alternate is DJ’s.
I really like this movie and give it a 75/100. DJ loved it, wants to own it, gives it an 87.
